Best Casinos for Non-Gamblers
Why do some guys just love gambling? Some love it so much they plan vacations around it. And these vacations aren’t just “guys’ weekends.” Sometimes they actually involve the whole family.
What kind of a guy drags his wife and kids to a casino resort for a vacation? I used to wonder that when my husband would insist on going to Las Vegas or Atlantic City. Then I discovered that the resorts in these gambling towns offer a little something for every member of the family.
For our anniversary my husband wanted to stay at the Borgata in Atlantic City. At first I protested, but then he said one magic word, “spa.” Immediately I began imagining luxurious facials and full body massages. I was in!
The Borgata was nothing short of spectacular. The rooms are sleek, modern and sophisticated. The spa is to die for! My husband may have spent the days gambling, but I spent them being pampered with one indulgent treatment after another in sumptuous surroundings. That’s the kind of vacation any girl could love.
One gambling vacation isn't enough for my husband, so we were soon bound for the middle of the desert to find Las Vegas. Despite my wonderful Atlantic City experience, I was a little wary of Vegas. Would it be seedy and filled with goodfellas?
Maybe I’d just seen too many movies. When we arrived in Vegas I found this glittering city more than a little breathtaking. We were staying at Caesar’s Palace. My husband assured me that the gambling was amazing, but I didn’t have time for that. The shopping inside Caesar’s at the Forum and the Appian Way Shops was so incredible! Designer clothing, gorgeous jewelry and tasteful souvenirs make these the best places to shop in Vegas.
Of course in Las Vegas there are also plenty of shows. I dragged my husband away from the poker table long enough each evening to see magicians, comedians and full-blown musical productions. The shows here are unforgettable and world class in their execution. I have officially decided to stop complaining when my husband suggests a casino vacation. I can definitely get into this!
Actually, I’ve decided to get the kids in on the act as well. Las Vegas offers plenty of attractions that are family friendly, and casinos at other destinations do the same. My latest discovery is located just south of Olympia, Washington. It’s called the Great Wolf Lodge. Sure, it’s a casino, but it’s also an indoor water park. When it comes to a family vacation, why not try a visit site that has something for the whole family? Casinos offering all of the amenities of a world class hotel are definitely on my list.
